Concerned About Interest Rates On The Rise?

Have you heard the latest news on interest rates? They’re predicted to rise – 3 different times – this year! That’s great for your every day savings account, but what about a new mortgage?

When mortgage interest rates rise, you may be tempted to put your home buying plans on hold, but there are three reasons you shouldn’t let these (slightly) higher interest rates deter your home buying plans in 2017.

First, when you shop for rates, be sure and shop at least three lenders using the same type of loan – 30-year fixed rate, adjustable, hybrid and so on. Do so at the same time because rates can change as much as several times daily. Then pick the best rate and lender for you.
Secondly, if applicable, make sure you talk with your lender about ways to improve your credit profile. If you’re stretching to buy a home, you can expect to pay higher interest rates but if your credit is excellent, the reverse is also true!
Lastly, remember to keep some perspective. Home buying conditions and interest rates change constantly. Focus on building equity with the lifestyle you want, not the slightly rising interest rates of today. After all, in the late 70’s early 80’s rates reached as high as 18+%! We’re not even close to something like that!

Triad Monthly Market Update – Feb 2017

The real estate market continues to build momentum as we head into Spring. Take a look at this…
The number of properties that closed in January was up 12% YTD vs 2016!

Over the last 12 months, resale closed properties have increased by 15.4% with the average price improving by 3.5%
The total number of active listings, whether looking at the overall market or just new construction, are down by 35% vs 2015.
By comparing active listings to total sales during the last 12 months there is currently a 4.1 month supply of inventory, both overall and for newly built homes.

WHERE IN THE WORLD HAVE YOU BEEN, LAURA???

Hi Everybody…I’ve missed you!!!!

Let’s cut to the chase. Where in the world have I been?

Did I get bored and just quit you ask? Nope.

Was someone sick? No.

Did I get a horrible case of writers block? Not that either.

Friends. I got my real estate license.

In addition to my other ‘hats’ I’m now a licensed broker. And let me just say…I arrogantly assumed it would be a cinch. A walk in the park. Take a few classes, pass a state test and away I’d go!

NOPE.

That real estate final exam was a bear and I quickly developed a much needed, new found respect for those in the real estate business!

Happily, I did pass on the first try and am thrilled to announce I have successfully joined the ranks of premiere real estate professionals selling residential properties with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Carolinas Realty.

“What??????? Who’s that” you ask?

Berkshire Hathaway HomesServices.

Yep. It used to be Prudential…probably heard of that one, but Prudential wanted out of the real estate business to focus on insurance among other things, so my buddy Warren Buffet (who owns HomeServices) said we should just use one of his brands, Berkshire Hathaway, and the rest is history! It was simply a name change. Branding. Gotta love it!

Anyway, I’m now up and running, open for business, and having the time of my life meeting all kinds of people and getting down to the business of selling all kinds of houses and properties! It is such a blast…

And look at the synergies here my dear readers…family, friends, & food all frequently come together in the place we all call – home! Not to mention I’m just all smiles about doing something new…it’s so invigorating! And it keeps me true to my “Live Happy” life mission!

So, that’s where I’ve been. On the couch absorbing massive amounts of real estate information, followed by launching my newest, full service business, Laura Kubicki Realty in cooperation with the premiere real estate company and market leader in the Carolinas, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.

And great news friends! I can help you whether you’re moving to the Carolinas or not.
